The TecTecTec VPRODLX is one of the newest golf rangefinders to hit the market, and while still relatively new, it’s already known for its speed, accuracy and excellent optics. But many avid golfers are hesitant to take the plunge and purchase a golf rangefinder from a lesser known brand. Often, with lower prices comes fewer features and a lower level of quality. But after doing a little digging we’re happy to report that this rangefinder works just as well as competing models that are priced much higher. You may not get some of the more popular flashy features, but it does offer plenty of the basics and a few top features that every rangefinder user knows and loves.
TecTecTec isn’t a company that’s as well-known as Nikon or Bushnell for their golf rangefinders, but they’re quickly making a name for themselves in the industry, due to the techy, innovative and lightweight rangefinder designs that are available at a lower price.
Their newest model is turning heads on the green, and for all the right reasons.
The VPRODLX golf rangefinder features a long measurement range of six hundred yards, pinsensor technology that’s able to measure overlapping obstacles, and a solid waterproof construction. Users will also love the 6x magnification, and included carry case and microfiber cloth.
Marketed as a more affordable golf rangefinder, we were pleasantly surprised to learn that it still comes packed with a ton of useful features you can take advantage of on the course. In fact, it comes with some features that make it even better than past models produced by TecTecTec, a company that’s quickly gaining a reputation for manufacturing lower priced, easy to use, highly accurate golf rangefinders.
VPRODLX Golf Rangefinder Overview and Features
The model’s accuracy and long range and short range will impress any user, and the pinsenor feature is also a great addition and is said to be more sensitive than what you’ll find on other golf rangefinders. Other top features include a longer battery life and waterproof construction.
This is a premium rangefinder that offers an extended range and can measure anything from five yards up to six hundred yards, very accurately.
The waterproof design helps to keep water out so the device can be used even in inclement weather.
The 6x magnification will allow users to see objects that appear six times closer using the monocular lens.
The multilayer coating provides clear, bright images, which will be essential on cloudy or sunny days.
Operating with a CR2 lithium battery, golfers will enjoy a longer battery life, so the device can be used for several rounds of golf.
Just like other models produced by TecTecTec, you’ll enjoy the latest technology in rangefinders. Even with the impressive longer range, the device is still highly accurate, give or take a yard. While a yard may not sound like much, if you’ve used other rangefinders in the past, then you know a one-yard accuracy is hard to come by.
Golf Rangefinder Pros and Cons
Pros: This model makes use of pinsensor technology that allows you to locate the pin for accurate readings. Based on consumer feedback, this feature works very well. However, avid Bushnell rangefinder users will be slightly disappointed that this rangefinder doesn’t offer a similar Jolt technology feature that alerts users that they have correctly locked onto a target by vibrating.
This model features a few different modes. The first target priority mode will enable the golfer to hit the flag regardless of the setting. The second mode is the distance target priority mode, which will help the golfer by estimating the distance of the target ahead. The pro scan mode will determine the distance of objects and obstacles in the background, so the golfer can make a more accurate assumption and adjust their shots as needed.
Most consumers can agree that one of the first things they noticed with this rangefinder was its high-quality optics system, which provides an impressively clear magnified view of the course.
This model can accurately measure objects up to six hundred yards away, which is a huge selling point for consumers.
With purchase, consumers will also get a microfiber cloth, battery, and carry case with strap. The device is ready to use right out of the box.
Overall, this device is small, lightweight, and compact, and fits nicely in the hand. We felt that the rangefinder was also one of the easiest to use on the market considering it only has a couple of operation buttons. The optics are super clear. Beginners will have no trouble at all navigating through the different modes and features or learning how to lock onto a target.
Cons: Looping can be an issue considering you will have to keep on switching to the flag seeker mode. While priced more affordably than competing models, some golfers may still find it a little pricey. If you don’t have steady hands it can be difficult at times to lock onto a target, considering the device is so small. While many users complained that the manufacturer doesn’t include a vibrating feature that can help to assure the user that they’ve correctly locked onto the intended target, we felt that this device is so easy to use that this type of additional alert wasn’t even necessary.
